Day Twelve - June 21

This morning was our coldest yet! It is not very fun packing up with numb fingers. It was still only 6 degrees when we climbed into the car at 8am, in time for reception to open so we could check out and return the boom gate key.

We filled the jerry can, got some oil for the car, swapped our gas bottle and got Maccas for breakfast. We took our breakfast up to the lookout at ANZAC hill to eat. Alice Springs is pretty from up high. The mountains go all the way around.

Despite starting out cold, today has warmed up to a balmy 27. We are set up at Devils Marbles, with hundreds of grey nomads in campervans.

I have gone through the bags and taken out the long pants and put in the shorts. All the jumpers are now in the dirty clothes bag too. Hopefully Lauren's washing machine will be able to turn them all back to their proper colours.

Devils Marbles is a funny collection of really big, mostly round rocks all stacked up together. The boys were disappointed to see that they are another site considered sacred by the aboriginals and that climbing on them is forbidden. They did enjoy running through them playing hide and seek though.

Monkey see...

Monkey do...

Lots of reading happening at bed time. Happy campers curled up with books makes this mummy very happy. Everyone is feeling well, and life is good.
